Northwest Annual Celebration October 2010
The 2010 Celebration was held at Carey Baptist Church, Preston, and included a talk by Ann Stanworth, the retiring president, and presentation of the 2010 competition awards.
Here's a message from May Currie the new NW CE President.

Hello friends,
I call you friends even though I do not know you all that well, but there is one thing that unites us all as friends and that is Christian Endeavour. I have been going to church for 50 years – wow – such a long time!! I have been a Christian for 26 of those years. I wish I could say something dynamic about accepting Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, but I can’t. All I know is that it took years of struggle within me to open up the door of my life to Him. I was afraid about what it would mean for me, my friends and my family. I thought I was not, nor ever would be, good enough to be a Christian and yet here I am taking on the role of North West Regional President of the Christian Endeavour! Still not ‘good enough’ but hoping to be used as the bible reading says in 1 Corinthians chpt 12, ‘..… one body many parts….’
How did I find myself here? Well, with the love, support and encouragement of my own CE Society at Long Lane and my other friends in Liverpool Union, I have been allowed to take part in meetings and have been trained to serve Christ and His Church by watching and listening to others. The fellowship I have shared along those 26 years has been a blessing. I have chosen a theme for the year of ‘Open all hours’ (thought of by my husband as we sat in the launderette one morning watching our duvet go through the wash!). Seriously, God never sleeps, He is open and ready for His people 24 hours a day, so we too as a CE movement must be ‘Open all Hours’ and ready to take every opportunity.
So as we go into another year of North West Christian Endeavour history, God never sleeps and I pray we will not ‘sleep’ in our work for Him in our own churches and in CE .
I hope to meet old and new friends and share fellowship with you all.
God bless each and everyone of you and your families.
May
