Annual Fun Day at West Kirby

On Saturday 18th June 2011, the N.W. Region of Christian Endeavour held their annual Fun Day at West Kirby. About 60 people of all ages from all around the N.W. came along and joined in the event.

Quite a few spent some time at the local shops whilst others braved the weather and joined in the fun on the beach.

It wasn’t quite as warm as in previous years but we managed to sit on the beach and enjoy our packed lunches wrapped up against the wind.

The tide was in and made our walk out to Little Hilbre impossible this year
but the sun did come out and we enjoyed some games and just digging in the sand. Some walked along the front whilst others played ball games. Lots of time was spent relaxing and chatting, catching up with everyone’s news and holiday plans.Ice creams were served and lip-licking good they were too!

Our new banner, specially purchased last year, caught the attention of local
who was an old Endeavourer. She came down onto the beach and introduced
herself to us.

We packed up and said our farewells but for those who lingered the evening
sunset was beautiful.

As we sat on the front eating our fish and chip supper looking over the
yachting lake the sky was true blue with stripes of golden bronze; a perfect ending to a lovely day, as the sun sank behind the islands and said,

‘Good-night… ‘till next year!’
